Getting into the spirit and looking for some crafty at-home holiday fun? Try these amazingly adorable DIY animal ornaments! All you need is some paper mache or similar blank ornaments, acrylic paint, brushes, felt and glue – or try your own creative ideas.

STEP 1 Paint a solid background color, this will be the base of your animal. We used black for cat, grey for bunny, and left the natural kraft brown paper to create a lion.

STEP 2 Paint the face details. You can keep them really simple and just add some dots or lines for texture.

STEP 3a Craft some felt ears. Check the proportions with your ornament size – and you can always cut them down smaller if they start off too big.

STEP 3b Affix the ears to the ornament with your choice of glue.

STEP 4 Finish with mod podge over the painted ornament to provide a protective coating. Hang your creations to dry and enjoy the cuteness. Here’s a group photo featuring a few of the DIY friends that we came up with. Happy Holidays!
